Melvin Hill

Melvin T. Hill NORFOLK - Melvin T. "Pete" Hill, 59, of the 2400 block of Kennon Ave., went to eternal rest in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Oct. 6, 2010. He was born in Sept. 3, 1951, to the late Johnny Hill and Dorothy Hill in Tarboro, N.C. He was educated in the Chesapeake school system and graduated from Crestwood High School. He was employed by Metro Machine Corp. in Norfolk for more than 18 years as a marine pipefitter. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 37 years, Virginia B. Hill; two daughters, Zelda Brown (Orlando) and Precious Hill. He is also survived by three loving granddaughters, Tiese, Trinity and LaKerah; one sister, Subina Hardee (John); two brothers, Cleaverson Hill (Pinky), Stephen Hill (Brenda) and a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at noon Monday at St. Mark RZUA, the Rev. Ben Thomas, pastor. Interment will be held in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. at the home. Services are being handled by Riddick Funeral Services, Norfolk.
