Marjorie Dulgher Obituary

Marjorie Baker Dulgher CHESAPEAKE - Marjorie Baker Dulgher went home to be with the Lord Oct. 10, 2010 in Norfolk. Marjorie was born on Feb. 21, 1917 in Waxhaw, N.C. to the late Robert L. Baker and Aver C. Haywood. She grew up in the Berkley section of Norfolk and lived in the Great Bridge area for many years. Marjorie was a retired LPN who worked at VA hospitals locally and in the Chicago area before returning to Tidewater. She was a born-again Christian and longtime faithful member of the Gospel Hall, Laurel Avenue. She was a kind- hearted, loving, generous, and faithful daughter, wife, sister and aunt. Aunt Margie has longed for the day to be in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and to be reunited with her beautiful family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eli Dulgher and siblings, Robert E. Baker, Lillie V. Baker Randolph, John H. Baker, Paul C. Baker, Janie Lee Baker Simmons and Elizabeth W. Baker Gardner. Left to cherish her memory are a host of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Pennie Simmons who was like a daughter and looked after her in her later years. Many thanks to Pennie and nephew, Robert Baker and wife Debbie Baker for their tender, loving care. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, with Brother Vernon Marsh and Brother Mark Nelson officiating. The burial will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The Gospel Hall 1204 Laurel Ave., Chesapeake, VA 23325. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
