Connie Manger Obituary

Connie F. Manger KITTY HAWK - Connie F. Manger passed away peacefully at her home Oct. 10, 2010 with many family members present. Connie was born in her family home in Radford, Va., August 1920 to Callie and Charles Farmer. She had a wonderful life and fond memories of growing up on the family's beautiful farm. She married the love of her life in 1943, Bill Manger. They resided in Northern, Va., for 28 years, where they owned and operated several hardware stores. In 1974 they retired to Port Orange, Fla. In 1997 they moved to Kitty Hawk, a much loved haven where they had vacationed since 1950. Mrs. Manger was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bill. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Shelton and her husband Robert; granddaughter, Connie Litt and her husband James; great-grandsons Bobby and Alex, residents of Kitty Hawk; granddaughter Heather Sica and her husband Mark and great-grandson Joseph of Ormond Beach, Fla.; daughter, Karen Hansen and her husband Butch of Ormond Beach; grandchildren, Dana Pasterjak and her husband John of Palm Coast, Fla.; Eric Hansen of Capistrano Beach, Calif., and wife Genesis; and great-grandson, Calvin, Ivan Hansen and his wife Treana of Mission Viejo, Calif. She is also survived by one sister, Julia Farmer and numerous nieces and nephews. Known as "Gannie" by all, she was a wonderful woman who loved all of her family. Gannie will be deeply missed and loved forever. She leaves behind many wonderful memories that will be with us always. The family wishes to thank all that work with Dare Home Health & Hospice. They cared for Gannie with love and respect and made her passing to God peaceful and loving. Special thanks and love to Bernice, Rosa, Tonya and Clea. A private memorial will be held by immediate family at a later date. Twiford Funeral Homes' Colony Chapel, Manteo, N.C., is assisting the family with arrangements.
