Sylvia Terry Obituary

Sylvia T. Terry CROWN POINT, Ind. - Sylvia T. (McCaleb) Terry, 71, of Crown Point, formerly of Portsmouth and Richmond, Va., passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010. Sylvia was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Crown Point. She was a retired school teacher from the Portsmouth school system. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest A. and Cecelia M. McCaleb; brother, Ernest H. McCaleb and sister, Cecelia Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Willie L. Terry of Crown Point; one sister, Clara McCaleb Hoggard (David) of Richmond; stepson, Jason (Toni) Terry and stepgrandchildren, Chloe and Gaven Terry, all of South Holland, Ill.; many loving nephews and nieces, and a host of relatives and friends, including several godchildren. Memorial services will be held today, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point. The Rev. David Gosnell officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the Burns Funeral Home today from 5 to 6 p.m., the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
