Betty Butler Obituary

Betty S. Butler FRANKLIN - Betty Shufflebarger Butler, 81, widow of William Robert "Bobby" Butler Jr., died Oct. 26, 2010 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born in Bland, a daughter of the late Herman and Euna Karnes Shufflebarger and was predeceased by a sister and a brother, Doris and Eugene Shufflebarger. Mrs. Butler was a teacher at Carrsville Elementary and retired after 30 years teaching. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dennis Wayne Butler of Courtland and Paul Lee Butler of Franklin; and two grandchildren, Amanda L. Butler and P. Wayne Butler. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Reaves officiating. Interment will follow in Southampton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
