Walter Hyman Vann VIRGINIA BEACH - The Rev. Walter Hyman Vann, 83, of the 4400 block of Prestige Lane, passed away Oct. 28, 2010 in a local hospital. A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., he was the son of the late Walter and Thelma Vann. He was a retired Baptist minister. He was a member of Great Neck Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Colbert Vann; three daughters, Deborah Coffield of Chesapeake, Sherryl L. Vann and Susan Lemaster both of Virginia Beach; a son, Tim Vann of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Doug, Amy, Josh, Scott, Jennifer, and Laura; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Great Neck Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Holt officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, N.C.
