Mary Pearce Cahoon CHESAPEAKE - Mary Pearce Cahoon, 62, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 in her home. Born in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late Paul Walter and Helen Roth Pearce. She was predeceased by her husband, David A. Cahoon; a brother, Adam Pearce and sister, Katherine Pearce Rice. She attended Deep Creek High School and later graduated from Hick's Beauty Academy. She began her career at Cindee's Beauty Salon at Mid-City, Portsmouth. She later became manager of Regis Hair Salon at Tower Mall. Subsequently, for nearly two decades, she was the owner/operator of Total Expressions Hair Designers in the Greenbrier section of Chesapeake. A progressive stylist, Mary was proud to offer ethnic hair services. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality, a strong sense of humor and the ability to make every customer feel special. Never a parent, Mary especially loved all of her nieces, nephews and many canine "children." Left to cherish her memory are seven siblings, Paul Pearce, James Pearce and wife Linda, John Pearce and wife Anna, Helen Erlbeck and husband Frank, Joseph "Cotton" Pearce and wife Emma, Carolyn Pearce Mann and husband Wayne, Patricia Pearce Weddle and husband Al, Patrick "Buddy" Pearce and wife Sandi; a brother- in-law, Thomas J. Rice Jr.; a special cousin, Johnie Pierce Jr., as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family. The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The graveside committal will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Edward Hanna, Dr. Donald Holzer, Barratt Sturtevant, P.A. and Dr. Robert Mendez for their outstanding care and compassion throughout the years.
