Leslie Moore Obituary

Leslie Moore CHESAPEAKE - Leslie "Buddy" Moore departed this life Nov. 3, 2010 in Sentara Lee Memorial Hospital, Virginia Beach. Buddy, as he was affectionately called, was born Feb. 22, 1942. He attended school in the Norfolk public school system. He came to know Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age. In later years as his health declined, he still loved attending services at New St. John AME Church in Virginia Beach. He had a special love for his family. He loved to make others laugh and smile. The family takes comfort in knowing that they shall see his smiling face one day again. Buddy is survived by his mother, Mrs. Helen Moore of Chesapeake; two brothers, Garyl Moore Sr. (Verona) of York, Pa., Alton Moore (Sylvia) of Fredericksburg, Va.; two sisters, Barbara May of Philadelphia and Adrienne Oliver (Jerome) of Asheville, N.C. Other relatives include nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Viewing will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, from noon until 3 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will follow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. I had not seen Buddy for many years but I have lots of good memories from my youth. Buddy was like a part of our family when we were growing up and he spent as lot of time at our home in Crestwood. It is good to know he had a relationship with the Lord in this life. My prayers are with all of you. May God bless all of you and may He comfort you at this time.
