Helen Spencer Obituary

Helen M. Spencer CHESAPEAKE - Helen M. "Nanny" Spencer, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by her husband, John Spencer. She touched many lives with her love including her children, Gale Brickhouse and her husband Phil, and Gary Spencer and his wife Sue; her grandchildren, Jason Brickhouse, Kelly Werderman, John Brickhouse, Ashley Everett, and Mandy Brickhouse; seven great-grandchildren and a special niece, Charlotte Garris. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake Chapel, Monday, Nov. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. Condolences may be made to the family at www.altmeyer.com.

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Nanny was a wonderful person and she never met a stranger. I am so lucky to have known her and how special she was. I know that she is looking down on all of you with her great warm smile. Hang in there at this hard time, and just know that she was loved by everyone who knew her.
