Robbie Eure Obituary

Robbie H. Eure Sr. SUFFOLK - Robbie Hayes Eure Sr., 76, died Nov. 7, 2010 at his home. A native of Gates, N.C., he was the son of the late James N. and Ruth Hayes Eure. Robbie retired as a farmer. He was co-owner of Eure Brother Corp. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he served as deacon, Sunday school director and teacher. Robbie also served as chairman of the Virginia Pork Board. Survivors include his wife, Faye H. Eure; son, Robbie H. Eure Jr.; one daughter, Shelbie E. Palermo and husband Tony; two grandchildren, Nina and Tonya Palermo; and brother, George E. Eure, all of Suffolk. A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Presley and Curtis Johnson on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the Duke University Cancer Institute, 512 S. Mangum St., Suite 400, Durham, NC 27701, or to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1637 Holland Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
