Manuel Ramos Obituary

Manuel D. Ramos Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Manuel D. Ramos Jr., 77, passed away at home Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 with his wife by his side. Mr. Ramos was retired from the United States Navy, where he proudly served 20 years including during the Korean War. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Betty; three daughters, one stepdaughter; one stepson; one sister, Rosemarie Dunn, and husband Bob, of Texas; seven grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; one great-grandson; two stepgreat-granddaughters. Manuel was a proud member of the Great Bridge Baptist Church in Chesapeake. He was also an active member in the Masonic Temple- Owens Lodge No. 164 in Norfolk, and Khedive Shiners, Scottish Rites. The funeral will be held at noon today, Nov. 15, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. Ray Owens officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Box 70025, Richmond VA 23255 or Chesapeake Fire Department, Station One, 304 Albemarle Drive, Chesapeake VA 23322.
