Aunt Doris was full of life and love. I remember her taking time to play basketball and football with my oldest son, her great-nephew. Whenever she came around she would spend so much quality time with him. He (Kameron) remembers Aunt Doris sneaking him candy and keeping him outside after dark playing. It is ironic because my husband James, her nephew, has similar memories of Aunt Doris. I remember meeting Aunt Doris about 14 years ago when I was dating my husband. We immediately had a bond. She told me back then welcome to the family! Aunt Doris loved to cook and spend time with her family. I will miss her laughter, her sense of humor and the forwardness that I appreciated about her. We love her but God loved her best. Rest in Peace Aunt Doris. We know that you loved us.

To the Brown-Thomas family from the Dixon family. Doris was our friend, our sister, mentor and I always wanted to be like her when I grew up because she was so stylist and beautiful. We all grew up together and were blessed because we all were family. We were the first family in Cavalier Manor and she showed me what it meant to be "cool" and a "lady" . she was my first real role model and your whole family along with mine knew the love and sharing of Doris. Binky and Tracie you were blessed to have a wonderful and beautiful Mother. To your whole family we wish to share our deepest condolences and love.
