Jerry Hancock Obituary

Jerry L. Hancock VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Jerry Luper Hancock, 82, died Nov. 12, 2010. She was born in Norfolk, and was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Lillian Luper. Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Raymond Hancock Jr. She had retired as a purchasing agent with Bauer Compressors and was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church. Jerry is survived by five children, Bob Hancock and wife Linda of Moyock, N.C., Patricia Melvin and husband Charlie of Virginia Beach, Lynn Gerlach and husband Carl of Chesapeake, Anne Hancock of Virginia Beach, and Bill Hancock and wife Crystal of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Buddy and Bill Luper. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or charity of one's choice.
