Francis Spencer Obituary

Francis F. Spencer CHESAPEAKE - Francis Furnald Spencer, 87, of the 4500 block of Nekoosa St. in North Port, Fla., went to be with the Lord Friday, Nov. 12, 2010. He was born in Norfolk Dec. 17, 1922 to the late Howard Spencer and Mary Frances Lowry Spencer. He worked at the Colonna's Shipyard for 35 years and came to reside in Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty Y. Spencer of North Port; sons, Gregory F. Spencer and wife, Patricia of Mount Vernon, Va., and Michael H. Spencer and wife Joyce of Virginia Beach; granddaughters, Victoria Spencer, Paige Spencer and Charlene Webster; great-grandchildren, Hailey Webster and Bryce Webster. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Francis is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., Nov. 20, in Calvary Temple, 5639 Brickell Road, Norfolk, VA 23502, with Pastor Chris Amos officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
