Elizabeth Mintz Obituary

Elizabeth Smith Mintz NORFOLK - Elizabeth Smith Mintz, 96, passed away Nov. 15, 2010 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Frederick Mintz. She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Ann Veach and husband Guy of Dover, Del., and Carol Mintz Evans; her grandchildren, Alan Kent Veach and wife Diane of Fort Bragg, Calif., Margaret Elizabeth Meyer and husband Greg; and great-grandchildren, Lukas Dylan Meyer and Emily Elizabeth Meyer of Chicago, Beverly Michelle Sheppard and husband Kenneth of Norfolk, Laura Rachel Turverey and husband Matthew; and great-granddaughter, Cassandra Renée Turverey of Goldsboro, N.C., Jennifer Denice Evans, and Elaine Veronica Evans. She graduated from Brenau University and was retired from the Norfolk Public School system where she had taught elementary school until receiving her master's degree from Old Dominion University, when she then became a reading specialist. A memorial funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, in Central Baptist Church by Dr. Tinney Parrish. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Baptist Church, 701 W. Olney Road, Norfolk, VA 23507. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
