Russell Umphlett Obituary

Russell L. Umphlett WINDSOR - Russell Lesley "Rusty" Umphlett, 48, passed away Nov. 29, 2010. He was a native of Suffolk and a farmer with Braswell Farms. He is survived by a daughter, Leslee Autumn Umphlett; his father, Robert Lee "Bobby" Umphlett and his stepmother, Pauline L. Umphlett of Windsor; his mother, Norma Downs "Sue" Jones of Windsor; a sister, Deborah U. "Debbie" Hampton; a nephew, Justin Raye Hampton and a goddaughter, Rebecca Ann Reid. A memorial service with visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. John Hunter officiating. Burial will be private. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.

I haven't seen Rusty since we were children, but I remember he was six years younger and lived across the street. I was good friends with his sister and my mom and their mom were good friends. As life goes on you lose touch but when I heard this it took me back to times in front yard trying to stand on our heads and eating honeysuckles. Rusty I know you will be missed. My heart and prayers are with you and your family.
