Spencer A. Russell NORFOLK - Spencer A. "Bill" Russell Jr., 82, peacefully went to be with the Lord Dec. 1, 2010. He was born Dec. 12, 1927 in Greensboro, N.C., the son of the late Spencer A. and Nell Russell. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Bill was the owner of the Squires After Hours Club and a member of the Virginia Bar and Restaurant Association, the U.S. Golf Association, the AMF Bowling League and general manager of American Legend. He was also an avid pool player, boater and early NASCAR driver. He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 31 years, Joan King Russell, Peggy Russell; brother, David; and sisters, Hope and Bobby. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted children, Cynthia, Michael, Linda and Adam Russell; his loving nephew, Gene Russell; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 4, in Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral will be held Sunday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m. in Rosewood Memorial Park, Chapel of Serenity.
