Not sure what to say?

My grandfather, Morris Maistelman, was Herbert's uncle. I am doing some research and came upon Herbert's obituary. It filled my heart to know what a wonderful human being he was and to be related to him. I think that my mother, Gloria Maistelman Herkowitz, is the oldest living Maistelman.

What is there to say? A good man married to a good woman who, together, raised two good men.

Herb is the epitomy of what it means to be a responsible, caring, human being. He and Betty selflessly saved two children from uncertain futures and turned them into the men they are today. If it were not for Herb I would not have met Mike, and my life would have been poorer for it. So, I have a selfish reason for mourning the loss of a truly great man. Herb, I am forever grateful to you.

I only knew Mr. Maistelman for a short time while he was at Beth Sholom. He was a sweet man with the cutest grin... I will certainly miss that about him. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was an extraordinary man.

You cannot choose your family, but you can choose your friends. Sharing an almost 50 year friendship with the entire Maistelman family has been one of our greatest joys. I truly understand your loss of this amazing mensch. My love to all the Maistelmans from all the Dragin's.
