Geneva Ford Obituary

Geneva W. Ford PORTSMOUTH - Geneva Wood Ford of Median Place entered into eternal rest Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. She was born in the South Norfolk section of Chesapeake to the late Tilton and Sarah Wood. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie Ford; a son, Isaiah Owens Sr.; brothers, Willie and Clifton Wood Sr.; and a sister, Georgia Wood. Her memory will be cherished by her two sisters, Beatrice Wood Thomas and Alberta Wood Watson; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Owens Roscoe; a daughter-in-law, Faye Owens; one granddaughter, Patrice O. Morrison; two grandsons, Isaiah Owens Jr. (Carolyn), Eric Owens (Shelly); nine great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives, caregivers and friends. A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Gregory David. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Friends may join the family at the residence at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church. The family will be in Corprew Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday.
