Cezar Osorio Obituary

Cezar Belandres Osorio VIRGINIA BEACH - Cezar Belandres Osorio, 90, of the 2600 block of Archdale Drive, passed away Jan. 5, 2011 in Sentara Bayside Hospital. A native of Cebu, Philippines, he was the son of the late Sulpicio and Hilaria Osorio. Cezar served from 1941 to 1946 in the Philippine Commonwealth Army and was a prisoner of war of the Japanese. From 1946 to 1949 with the USAFFE command (Philippine Scouts). After separating from the Army, he went back to school and eventually retired as chief of police, Davao, Philippines. In 1994, he joined his daughter and family in Virginia Beach. He is survived by his daughter, Celsa Osorio Rucker and her husband Daniel and their children Danielle and Christine Rucker, all of Virginia Beach; a brother, Jesus Duenas of the Philippines and two sisters, Amor Codillero and Leonora Bagazin, both of the Philippines. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Silvio Kaberia and Fr. Leo Manalo officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
