It was with a great sense of loss that I learned of your father's transition. While there is nothing I can say that will ease your loss, I wanted you to know that "Mr. Alonzo" was one of a kind and I am blessed to have known him. Keith and I looked forward to seeing him whenever we came to Norfolk for a visit. "Mr. Alonzo" was a true gentleman - kind, warm-hearted, witty, and a skillful card player. His distinctive laugh still resonates with me. I hope that the passage of time will help ease your sadness and leave you with many happy memories. In the meantime, may the love of family and friends sustain you at this most difficult time.

It has been a great pleasure knowing Mr. Alonzo all these years..He brought a lot of jokes, laughs and fun whenever he entered the room with his distinctive laugh. No card game will ever be the same. I will miss him tremendously and he will never ever be forgotten. Love you Mr. Alonzo and may you rest in peace. Travis Melvin
