Henry Perry Obituary

Henry E. Perry Jr. VIRGINIA BEACH - Henry Elijah Perry Jr., 73, of the 400 block of Jacqueline Ave. passed away Jan. 7, 2011. He was born Sept. 5, 1937 in Wilmington, N.C. He was predeceased by his wife, Christine S. Perry; his father, Henry E. Perry Sr.; brother, Charles S. Perry and grandmother, Ethel Lawrence. He was a 1955 graduate of Williston Senior High School and attended Norfolk State University and St. Leo College. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a faithful member of the Elks. Henry was a member of Mount Zion Community Christian Church where he served as a trustee and deacon. He retired after 41 years as a civil service employee from the Naval Supply Center. He is survived by his daughter, Felicia Michele Perry (Walter); his mother, Charlotte L. Perry; one brother, Leroy W. Perry (Barbara); one granddaughter, Taylor R. Robinson; special cousin, Delores Galloway Wallace; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today in Mount Zion CCC, 2345 E. Indian River Road. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
