Margaret Murray Obituary

Margaret C. Murray FRANKLIN - Margaret Ann Caldwell Murray, 89, widow of Dr. John Alexander Murray, passed away Jan. 12, 2011 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bluefield, W.Va., reared in Matoaka, and was predeceased by her parents, Walton B. and Veleda Clough Caldwell; two sisters, Mary C. Chandler and Jean C. Carver; and a brother, Walton B. Caldwell Jr. Mrs. Murray was a longtime member of High Street United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mary Jean Murray of Dansville, N.Y., and Betty Ann Murray of Dover, Del.; two sons, John A. Murray Jr., of Arlington, Va., and Michael B. Murray and wife Elizabeth of Nags Head, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Evan Alexander Murray and Kian Michael Murray. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at the High Street United Methodist Church in Franklin, with the Rev. Susan Reaves and the Rev. Edward C. Johnson officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends in the church social hall following the service and suggests memorials be made to the High Street United Methodist Church parsonage fund, P. O. Box 218, Franklin, VA 23851. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, has charge of arrangements. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
