My deepest sympathy to Sharon's family. I'm the lady standing with Sharon ala clown in the photo at Ort Farms. Sharon was literally a ray of sunshine, bring positive vibes and happiness everywhere she went. Working with her at Ort Farms was a real pleasure. She made raising funds for children in foster care through the Fostering Wishes for Children program alot of fun, even when it was really, really cold!!! Her creative ideas had a huge impact on how we ran the fundraiser, and helped speed the program to statewide from just a few counties. Her wonderful personality made it easy to get lots of volunteers to come out and work each weekend. She helped make this program the success it is today. I was so sorry to hear news. We'll all miss her.

I worked with Sharon here at Kraft for a few years before her illness.
Over the past few days I've gotten a chance to remember some of the good times I got to spend with her. We travelled to San Diego for business in 2004 and got to talk a lot over meals and downtime.
Sharon was great company and such a warm, complex and interesting person. On our last day in SD we had no seminars to attend. We were both excited to be able to check out the SD zoo. Something simple, but a lot of fun with Sharon along. Times I'll always remember fondly.

As a former co-worker at Nabisco, I can remember being able to call Sharon at any time from any place in the country to reset a password or unlock an id. She always gave me a hard time, but only in a way that Sharon could... all the time chuckling that I really thought she was serious. Little did I know,I would learn that was definitely not the case. Sharon always got the job done but always kept it fun and entertaining. I can vouch for Myriam's earlier post about the cubicle antics as I was fortunate enough to sit on the other side of the cubicle wall from all three of them. You really never knew when you were safe from something 'falling' onto your desk or some off the wall question just to see the reaction on your face.
Sharon - enjoy the better place your in. Make them laugh like you did for us!

Sharon was a lovely, funny, genuine person. She was generous with her time on IT Connections and the pot luck. A real tragedy. That so many people who worked with her many years ago made the effort to sign the quest book speaks volumes about who she was.

Such sad news. Sharon unlocked my TUBI ID many times. I also remember she loved her cats. I'll certainly make a donation in her honor.
Sharon's Nabisco friends may remember she was very very active in IT Connections and many other charitable efforts. I'm including a quote and picture from the Foster and Adoptive Family Services event she coordinated - originally published in the Nov 2000 Net IT Central eNewsletter. It's nice to see her pictured smiling and doing what she enjoyed!
<< "This money is not for basic necessities, but for the 'extra' wishes that all children have — things like class rings, yearbooks or musical instruments," says Sharon Gabor, staff information security analyst, Nabisco IT, and the person in charge of coordinating volunteers for the event run at Ort Farms in Long Valley, NJ. >>
Very sad, so young and full of life ... my heartfelt condolences to Sharon's family, friends and pets ... :(

Sharon was an original!! The first time I met her at Shadyside hospital she painted her pumpkin purple and wrote "cancer sucks" on it. But she never acted like cancer sucked. She had a positive attitude and was full of energy. Sometimes we would do crafts until after 11 at night. It was great!!
Sharon was funny, friendly, clever, creative, and kind! She tested our brains with her costume guessing games and made us laugh with her funny stories. I thought sure I'd be buying the book she wanted to write: 50 things to do with a brown paper bag. She seemed more like a volunteer than a patient when she would go round up the patients that she knew liked to craft and she would help folks back to their rooms with their projects. When another patient's scarecrow split it's paper pants and glue wouldn't fix it, Sharon got the unique idea to take fun material and tie a sarong around the scarecrow. It looked so cute!!
She would often say that the craft might be something she could do with her mom. So, it was wonderful when Sharon's mom and her friend, Victoria, came with her for crafts in February. It was so good to see Sharon doing so well after her transplant. She chatted with the other patients, got her toe nails painted, and painted a pot of hearts. It was a good night!! But getting Sharon back to her room was an adventure. Victoria pushed the bed and I went alongside with the oxygen. We ran the bed into a doctor, a nurse, a cart and the wall. We all laughed so hard, it was great!!
Sharon: I will miss you at Shadyside. But I imagine you in heaven, sharing all your fun ideas with God, and that makes it a little easier.
For Sharon's family and friends (especially her Mom): I share your sadness and I pray that God's love and good memories of Sharon will comfort you and bring you peace!!

Dear Gabor Family:
We are so saddened by the news.
Our hearts and our prayers go out to you all. Sharon was a kind, sweet young woman and we will miss her so much. She was a good friend and co-worker, and we shared many times with her, some sad, but most fun and happy.
Sharon moved in with us, upstairs, in the summer of 2004 and we got to know her and Antoinette and Leo (her cats) quite well. We'll never forget her.
May we all remember Sharon for her humor, kindness and generosity. She loved her family and friends so much; may we all try to be as loyal and loving as she was.
Please keep in touch!

Dear Gabor Family,
My deepest regrets and sympathy on Sharon's passing. I worked with Sharon but only had the pleasure of speaking with her via the telephone as I reside in the Wilkes-Barre, PA office with Kraft. Sharon was always kind and helpful to work with. I enjoyed talking with her and hearing about her co-workers antics. She will be missed. God Bless and regards.

Sharon & I sat across from each other when she worked in the Parsippany office. And every now and then when Sharon felt like getting into mischief, she would sneak up behind me while I was on the computer, and conk me on the head with a hammer-like gizmo that giggled; her cubicle was filled with all sorts of gadgets. Needless to say, I was scared out of my wits the first time she pulled this stunt but Sharon . . . her infectious laughter fill our immediate area. We’d laugh until we cried & then Kelly would chime in, “Hey, do the two of you think you can bring it down to a dull roar? I’m trying to work over here”.
Dear Sharon: You will be greatly missed; may you rest in peace.
To the Gabor Family: Please take comfort in knowing that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
