Farewell, Sir Gumdrops. Give my best to Jerry, Elmer, Michael Kamen, Rachael, Basil and so many others. Oh, and ask God what the deal is with everything down here.

This one is for you, my friend. Yuk yuk.

I honestly thought I'd signed this guestbook already, but clearly I haven't. Gregory's enthusiasm and attitude of camaraderie was always a perfect antidote to the often cynical types of exchanges that can happen amongst online aficionados of just about anything, film music or otherwise. Here was a guy who simply loved music, loved talking about it, loved sharing it, and who had little appetite for conflict over it. I'll miss that, and I hope to emulate him more over time in many regards. Yuk yuk, indeed!

And here's hoping his Steelers can put something other than a zero into the Patriots' loss column in a couple weeks!

Half an hour ago it came to my attention that Gregory passed away. Weeks have gone by since I last took the time to read something delightfully funny written by Gregory in rec.music.movies, only now there will be no more of his witty remarks...

I didn't know him in person, but even though we only communicated by written word I at least have a couple of physical objects he must have touched that I will treasure and that will remind me of his humour!

Condolences to the family and Yuk Yuk to you, Gregory!

I just found out this very minute while skimming across rec.music.movies and still cannot believe it. I just can't. Gummy gone? I loved reading his posts and the e-mail contact we had. He was witty, smart, and blessed with an infatuating enthusiasm for the art of film music. Until just these very minutes that I am writing this I did not even know he was sick, since I had taken "some time off" from reading and posting on the Net. I am sad. Genuinely sad. My most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Gummy, I shall dearly miss you!

To me Greg was a good friend in real life and a very kind and humorous person. He never failed to make me laugh. He always listened when I had problems and offered compassionate advice. Most of all he was intelligent, articulate and fun to be around. My sincere condolences to Marlene and Greg's family.

Farewell gumdrops. You are really missed. A man of both taste, tolerance and humour is hard to find, and you gave us all three. All the best in the next life - I hope we someday get a chance to meet.

I knew Gregory via the filmscoremonthly.com messageboard, and other message boards devoted to soundtracks. Sadly, you can only know a person so well via that kind of incidental interaction, but he always struck me as someone I'd like to know better.

I only knew Gregory thru email and MSN chats but I don't think I will
EVER meet another person so enthusiastic about film music. So in his honor, I will be dedicated my next radio show to Gregory as I will feature music from of his favorite composers and scores on the program.

You will be missed my dear friend!

Yuk Yuk!

I didn't know in the real world, but only as a poster on FSM. He always made interesting points and had a great sense of humor. I wish him good fortune in his continuing journey and hope that we meet at the clearing at the end of the path. Fare Well.

Although I knew Gregory only online, he was always a welcome presence there - knowledgeable, enthusiastic and unfailingly good-natured. He will be sadly missed.

Gregory, may the music of the spheres now be the score for your travels between the multiverses.

And to the family & friends he has left behind, please accept my most sincere condolences.

I was Greg's teacher many years ago when he attended Resurrection School in West MIfflin. I remember him well, as well as his sister Susan. Greg was a great kid, with a very mature sense of fairness. I knew he would be come a successful young man. I am deeply saddened by his passing. My sympathy goes out to all members of his family. Sincerely, Carol Andres(Minchoff)

Seeing Greg/Gumdrops' picture has moved me so -- he looked totally
different than I had imagined . . . yet, I feel even closer to him now.
He would have probably been quite amused that we both have beards!
Athough we emailed each other numerous times over the past couple
years, we only spoke on the phone once, for over an hour and a half,
just a few days before he fell ill. By the end of our conversation,
during which we shared our passion for music, I felt I truly had a
friend -- a warm, interesting, humorous, giving, and honorable friend. What more could a person who loves music ask for? Gumdrops: You are greatly missed.
