Catherine A. Maloney Kane
formerly of Binghamton
Catherine A. Maloney Kane, 88, formerly of Binghamton, entered into eternal life April 22, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, N.Y. She was born in Binghamton, the daughter of the late James F. and Catherine Hastings Maloney, Sr. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Frank Paul Kane; and her brother, James F. Maloney, Jr. She is survived by her stepson, Frank P. "Skip" Kane; her nieces, Christine and Donald Brady, Kathleen and Richard Jerant; nephew, James and Brenda Maloney; several great-nieces and nephews. Catherine was a graduate of the College of St. Rose and retired from the IBM Corporation after 28 years of service. Catherine volunteered for many years at Lourdes Hospital and the Antique Exchange. She was a member of the Monday Afternoon Club.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick's Church, Binghamton, Saturday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday from 4-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund, 9 Leroy St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
