Margaret Elizabeth Bouza
of Whitney Point, N.Y.
Margaret Elizabeth Bouza, 84, formerly of Glendale, NYC, and Valley Stream, N.Y., passed away on June 10, 2008. Her husband, Reuben Bouza, predeceasd her in 2002. She is survived by her two daughters, Jeanne Bouza Rose, Wantagh, N.Y., and Joan Bouza Koster, son-in-law Harold A. Koster; grandchildren, Laurel Anna Koster and Matthew Lincoln Koster, Whitney Point; and two sisters, Evelyn Miller, Lancaster, Pa., and Violet Long, Saugerties, N.Y. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one other sister, Ruth Rice, Shrewsbury, N.J. She graduated from Nassau Community College and attended Hunter College and Queens College where she studied art and sociology. She was an employee of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City, the Valley Stream School District, and the New York City Board of Education for many years as a secretary. A gifted violinist, a fine artist, inveterate storyteller, and charming hostess, she especially enjoyed her many trips to Europe, in particular, Orkney in Scotland, and Southern Greece where both her daughters spent time pursuing academic interests.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the George Werst Funeral Home, Glendale, NYC. Instead of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory can be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation or the Lourdes Hospice Foundation, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, N.Y. 13850. The family wishes to thank her compassionate caregivers, Ginny Blair, Lisa Decurtis, Judy Coles, Linda Roman, Theo Abbey, Paula English, and Ivonne David as well as the staff of the Lourdes Hospital oncology unit for their kindness and care.
