Richard "Dick" Groover
of Susquehanna, Pa.
Richard "Dick" Groover, 60, of Grand Street, Susquehanna, Pa., passed away Friday morning at home after a long-term battle with polycythemia cancer. He was survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jennifer L. Groover. Dick was born June 5, 1948, the son of the late Edmond and Lois Groover. He was also predeceased by his brother, Larry Groover; sister, Doris Shanley; beloved friend and sister-in-law, Cynthia Lee; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Miller. He was survived by his one daughter and son-in-law, Loiseann and Todd Burnett; one son and daughter-in-law, Edmond and Heather Groover; seven grandchildren, Angelica, John Michael, Dominique, Thomas, Troy, Miranda and Rylea; one great-grandson, R.J.; five brothers, Joseph and Anna Berardi, Louis, Thomas, Charles, and Edmond Groover; six sisters, Janet, Gloria, Jean, Alice, Sandy and Nancy Groover; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was intelligent, talented and full of life. He was a great carpenter and man of many trades. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, and just being outdoors. Dick was also a devoted and loving husband and father who cherished spending time with his family. He had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by many.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14th, at 10 a.m. at the Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, with Pastor Ernestine Glastetter officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Susquehanna. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Donations for the funeral services may be made to People's National Bank, care of Richard Groover's Memorial.

Jenny, Lois & Eddy,
It was a privilage to care for Dick at the end of his journey here on earth. He was a great friend and I will sadly miss him. You gave great care to him through his illness and kept your pomise to keep him home. Great job! You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong keep the Faith one day you'll see him again healthy and happy in heaven . Much love,
