Thomas B. Adams, 85, of Endicott, born January 2, 1923, to the late Thomas B. and Margaret (Kelly) Adams, the oldest of eight children, died at Bridgewater Nursing Home, Binghamton, Tuesday, July 8, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife, Jayne (MacLean) Adams; a daughter, Sandra Shuee; two brothers, William and Robert Adams; and two sisters, Rita Kabot and Margaret Smith. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and Stephen Barrett, Muncie, IN and Nancy Adams, Endicott; seven grandchildren, David, Jeff and Kevin Barrett, Thomas and Charles Shuee, Emily Gibbons and Laura Crone; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Tom Lynch, Phoenix, AZ, and Patricia and Fran Fitzgerald, Newark Valley, NY; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Judy Adams, Brackney, PA; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Endicott and a retired IBM Corp. employee of Endicott, Indiana and New Jersey, retiring after 40 years of service. He served three years with the Police and Fire Merit Commission Board in Muncie, IN. After retirement he was employed by Wegman's, Johnson City, in the Meat Department.
Funeral Service will be held Monday 1 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Special thanks to the staff at Bridgewater Nursing Home for all their compassionate care and concern.
