Vie Parks Obituary

Vie Mary Parks
of Montrose Pa.
Vie Mary Parks was the daughter of the late Gerald Baldwin and Vie D. Baldwin of Horseheads, N.Y. She was born August 16, 1915. Vie Mary was a Girl Scout Leader and Brownie Leader a total of 8 years in Horseheads, N.Y. She attended Binghamton General Hospital School of Nursing for 2 years; then attended beauty school. Vie Mary worked at the Mark Twain Hotel Beauty Salon, Corning, N.Y. and also had her own beauty shop in her home for 2 years. She married Francis H. Parks of Elmira, N.Y. and moved to Montrose, Pa. where they had two children, Priscilla Anne Trpik, Caldwell, N.J. and Francis H. "Sandy" Parks Jr., Hallstead, Pa. She worked during WWII at Fowler, Dick & Walker Beauty Salon; Marge Bolton's Salon for 2 years; and was then hired by Robert Babcock, owner of the former Montrose Department Store as a beauty operator for 2 years where she eventually became the manager for 15 years. Vie Mary retired but worked part-time at local nursing homes including Wilbur's Nursing Home as a beautician while retaining her Beauty Operator Teaching License until 2002. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Montrose and Business & Professional Woman's Club of Montrose, Pa. She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Anne Trpik, Caldwell, N.J., Francis H. "Sandy" Parks, Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Catherine W. Parks, Hallstead, Pa.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She touched many lives with her sincere appreciation and love for family and friends. A special thank you to the staff at Meadowview Senior Living Center, Montrose, Pa. for their loving care of Vie Mary.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 16, 2008, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, Pa. Services: Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
