Mary Elizabeth Hawk Seger
of Concord, N.C.
Mary Elizabeth Hawk Seger went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at 9:50 p.m. at CMC-Northeast. She was born on February 20, 1918 in Curwensville, Pa., and was currently a resident of 3700 Taylor Glenn NW, Concord, N.C., formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., and Bradenton, Fla. Mary was a homemaker, dedicated to her family, her grandchildren and served AWANA in her church in Bradenton, Fla. She was a member of Pitts Baptist Church, Concord. Surviving are her son, Donald Seger and wife, Donna Canniff Seger, Kannapolis, N.C.; son, David Seger and wife, Joyce Collingwood Seger, Concord, N.C.; brother, John Hawk, Florida; brother, Richard Hawk, Pennsylvania; sister, Betty Turner, Pennsylvania; sister, LaNell Broth, Ohio; sister, Jane Knepp, Indiana; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Commodore Perry Seger who died September 21, 1999; father, Harvey Hawk; mother, Alice (Riddle) Hawk; and granddaughter, Sherri Lynn Seger. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Pitts Baptist Church Building Fund, 210 Pitts School Road NW, Concord, N.C. 28027.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 21, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Pitts Baptist Church, Concord. Funeral services with Rev. Scott Davis and Rev. Kevin Seger officiating, will take place Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Pitts Baptist Church, Concord. Burial will take place in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Charlotte, N.C.

Donald, David & family, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. She was a beautiful lady whom I remember from childhood, living on the 1st floor of our Mary St. home and then years later when our families lived a street apart on the eastside of Binghamton. Surprised to learn she also resided in Bradenton Fla. where my mother still resides. Thinking of you and your families.
