Sherrill Reynolds Obituary
Sherrill L. Reynolds
of Vestal
Sherrill Lawrio Hartquist Reynolds, 70, of Vestal, went to her Lord peacefully, Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. She was born February 19, 1938 in Endicott, and was predeceased by her parents, D. Maurine Lawrio and Leslie L. Lawrio. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Reynolds, Vestal; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Penny Hartquist; grandchildren, Trevor Hartquist and Kylee Hartquist, all of Endicott; sisters, Carol Lawrio, Connie and Steve Yourst, Vestal; nephew, Matt Yourst, California; stepchildren, Hunter Reynolds, Mark and Florintina Reynolds, Tasha Reynolds Sullivan and her daughter, Terra Sullivan, Brian and Anndree Reynolds and their daughters, Baylee and Kirra. Sherrill was the Musical Director at the Cider Mill Playhouse in Endicott, for over 20 years. She was the piano player that provided the music for many musicals, including Fiddler on the Roof. She played piano and organ for church services at Memorial Park Baptist Church for many years. She was a graduate of Vestal High School, Class of 1956. She attended her 40th class reunion in 1996, where she met her classmate and friend, Bob Reynolds. After a short courtship, they were married on June 5, 1996. Sherrill attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y. Sherrill's life was her family, friends, and those needing a friend. She was well respected and loved by many who enjoyed her music, and sadly must say, so long Sherrill, see you at the top. Special thanks to the Doctors and nurses at ICU Wilson Memorial Hospital for their loving kindness and care, and to her special friends, Lois Rose, Claus and Esther Evans.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Memorial Park Baptist Church, 1013 Front St., Vestal. The Rev. Marlene Steenburg, Pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Memorial Park Baptist Church, 1013 Front St., Vestal, N.Y. 13850.

I'll miss Sherrill. She was a very special person. Since my first audition at the Mill, at age 5, Sherrill was there.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Sherrill was my piano teacher in Jr. High School. What a terrific accompanist she was!! She also played for our choir at Memorial Park Baptist. I learned a lot from her!!

I knew Sherrill a long time ago, before she remarried. She so loved her son Bruce and he used to come to the office where we worked. Sherrill had a great way of getting to know people and care about them. We used to go out after work and talk about our lives and I miss those chats. My deepest sympathy to you, Bruce and Bob and all of Sherrill's loved ones.

Sherrill and I were classmates from at least 6th grade on. I always admired her musical talent and am glad to see it continued throughout her life. I remember the great band trips and her leadership of the clarinets. I'm sure she is playing for the angels

I REMEMBER SHERRILL AS A PIANIST FOR OUR CHOIRS IN HIGH SCHOOL AND MY ACCOMPANIST WHEN WE PERFORMED "THE HOLY CITY" AT EASTER. SHE WAS ONE IN A MILLION WITH EXCEPTIONAL TALENT AND CHARACTER.

Sherrill was my high school classmate. Although physically seperated by those many years she continued to live in my memory as all the classmates do. With her passing a bit of our lives have passed also. She has gone but her memory still lives through us. She was a sweet person.
