Robert Peter Stella, Sr.
of Franklin, Tenn.
Robert Peter Stella, Sr., age 86, of Franklin, Tenn., July 31, 2008. Born in Owego, N.Y., to the late Raymond and Pauline Vangorder Stella. Veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. Retired salesman from Sears. 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 35 years - Scoutmaster for 17 years and a regional commissioner for 18 years. During this time he received the Silver Beaver Award, the St. George Award and the Vigil Award of the Order of the Arrow. Volunteered at St. Edwards Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith, Ark., for 17 years. In 2007 he was recognized and honored for his dedicated service as a volunteer and fund raiser for the Auxiliary. Preceded in death by wife, Lorraine Frances Stella. Survived by: sons, Robert P. (Maureen) Stella, Jr., New York City, N.Y., and Danny (Debbie) Stella, Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Sharon (Mike) Russell, Brentwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Brittany Stella, Christina and Allie Russell.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2008, at The Manor at Steeplechase Chapel, 314 Cool Springs Blvd., Franklin, Tenn., with Father John Sappenfield, Celebrant. WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 615 794-2289.

I remember Bobby from my early childhood when we lived on George St. in Owego. He was a friend of my older brotherand I believe was in the same hi-school grad. class. I never saw him without asmile on his face!
