Sherry Gilbert
of Newark Valley
Sherry Gilbert, 50, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008, following an illness. Born on October 8, 1957, in Endicott, Sherry was a daughter of the late Fenton and Barbara (Rogers) Marshall. She was predeceased her husband, Timothy Anderson; and by a daughter, Stephanie Gilbert. She is survived by her children, Barbara Rogers, Marcus (Betty French) VanVorce, Jr., Daniel (Vickie) Truesdail, III, Shaena (Andrew Steele) Anderson, Tanya (Curtis Boone) Anderson, and Steven Gilbert. Also surviving are her sister and brother, Debra (Donald) Martin, Fenton (Jenny) Marshall; her grandchildren, Natalea Craft, Jacey VanVorce, Daniel Truesdail IV, Andrew Steele, Jr.; her former husbands, Marcus VanVorce, Sr., Daniel Truesdail, Jr., and Steven (Stewy) Gilbert. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Sherry was a former employee of IBM, Endicott and HADCO. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a fastidious housekeeper.
The family will receive their friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow there at 12 noon with Rev. Philip Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
