Raymond L. Ayres
of Susquehanna, Pa.
Raymond L. Ayres, 64, of Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, Pa., passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008, at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna after an illness. He was born in Oakland Township, Pa., the son of the late Bernard and Mary (Seamans) Ayres. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Virginia (Cavanaugh) Ayres; four sons, Warren Rincavage and partner, Tom McNamara, Apalachin, N.Y., Bryan and Tara Ayres, Greene, N.Y., Scott Ayres and Denise Caruso, Susquehanna, Ray Ayres and Chrissy Osterhout, Susquehanna; three brothers, Harry and Linda Ayres, George and Lena Irwin, Wayne and Mary Irwin; six sisters, Leona LaBarre, Linda Irwin, Dorothy and Roger Smith, Gloria Kelly, Joyce and Raymond Dibble, Debbie Haskins; five grandchildren, Kelsey Jane, Kevin, Chelsea, Christopher, Julianna; mother-in-law, Betty Cavanaugh; two sisters-in-law, Kathy and Ozzie Miller, Susan Stanek; three brothers-in-law, Donald Cavanaugh, Larry and Fran Cavanaugh, Tim Cavanaugh and Cindy Gilbert; several nieces and nephews. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union of Binghamton. He worked for Kroehler Mfg. for 20 years, Barnes-Kasson Hospital for 25 years, and retired from Rotorcast Mfg. in Lanesboro, Pa. He enjoyed playing in the Pa. Lottery and attending antique car shows. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7th, at 3 p.m. at the Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, with Rev. Carl Batzel officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Susquehanna. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Care Hospice, 851 Commerce Blvd., Suite 101, Dickson City, Pa. 18519.

I am Angela (Wilmot). I saw Rays obit in the paper today. I am so sorry for your lose. We all grew up together. Mary and Joan use to babysit us. I am Ray's age. I rem. your parents well. Actually Mary and George Irwin.
We lost our Mom last year. Mary, ur Mom and my Mom Jean, were close friends. My Mom was the one who sang and yoodled. Many of you will rem.
