Irene M. Ferranti
of Binghamton, N.Y.
Irene M. Ferranti, 87, of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away peacefully on August 8, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, James Ferranti; and one brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Marian Schaffer. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Gail Ferranti; one daughter and son-in-law, Marlyn and Earl Peugh; three brothers, Harold and Antoinette Schaffer, Edward Schaffer; and William Schaffer; one sister, Beverly Halligan; one sister-in-law, Betty K. Ferranti; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two very special friends, Margaret Carpenter, and Karen Smith. Irene worked as a bookkeeper at A-B Trucking in Binghamton for many years. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, an avid reader and loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2008, at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Binghamton, with the Rev. Msgr. Michael Meagher and Rev. Chris Celentano of St. Andrew's Church officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 10, from 4-7 p.m. at the Savage Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton. Condolences may be expressed online to the family at www.savagefs.com. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Danielle House, 160 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
