Dorothy Frear Obituary
of Mt. Upton, N.Y.
Dorothy Frear, 83, of Mt. Upton, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008, at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford. She was born May 13, 1925, daughter of the late Roland and Elizabeth (Kaithlein) Rogers in Pennsylvania. Dorothy married Ivan Frear on December 31, 1943 in Endicott; he predeceased her on March 15, 2002 after 58 years of marriage. She was employed as an inspector for Bendix in Sidney when she retired in 1988. Dorothy was a member of the Women of the Moose in Sidney and a past member of the Sidney American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roland Frear, Binghamton and Kenneth and Charlene Frear, Masonville; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon Nichols, Unadilla, Nancy and Skip Morrow, Sidney, Dianne and John Crisell, S.C., Donna Linker, Vermont; 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her son, Gary Ivan Frear; three grandchildren, Ivan J. Frear, Denise Frear and Dale Frear; two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 13, 2008, from 1-2 p.m. at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Afton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to the Resident's Fund at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford, 4211 State Highway 220, Oxford, N.Y. Arrangements by C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney.
