Frank Kocian
of Apalachin
Francis (Frank) Kocian, 91, of Apalachin, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn; and a grandson, David Kocian. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Ursula Kocian, Wisconsin, Lee and Norma Kocian, Joseph and Pat Kocian; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Robert Carberry, Florida; seven grandchildren, Greg and his wife, Kelly Carberry, Christopher Carberry, Kim and her husband, Chuck Smith, Joseph and his wife, Debbie Kocian, Michele, Kevin and Scott Kocian; a granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Kocian Graham; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Waterman, Texas; also several nieces and nephews. Frank was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army; a retired employee of IBM and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the Apalachin United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at the Ideal Senior Living Center for their loving care.
A funeral service for Frank will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., St. Rt. 434, Apalachin, N.Y. The Rev. William Prentice, Pastor of the Campville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing may make contributions in his memory to the Apalachin United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 303 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin, N.Y. 13732.

I am sorry to hear about Frank's passing. He was a big help when we moved to Apalachin many years ago.
It's a sad time no matter what age we are. My nephew passed away last week and it's hard to believe , it happened so fast. My prayers are with you.
