James F. Ayres
of Conklin
James F. Ayres, 59, of Conklin died unexpectedly Saturday, August 16, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Ayres. He is survived by his children, Jessica Mary Ayres and her fiance, Garrett Scheff, Casselberry, Fla., James F. Ayres, Washington, D.C.; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter "Bud" and Karen Ayres, Albany, J. Marshall and Cathie Ayres, David and Kim Ayres, all of Conklin, Ed and Lisa Ayres, Memphis, Tenn.; uncles, Dr. John and Anne Ayres and George and Ann Solyak; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many very good friends. Jim was a graduate of Susquehanna Valley High School and Broome Community College, and a former partner in Walter F. Ayres Insurance. He currently was a councilman for the Town of Conklin and a candidate for Conklin Town Justice. He was formerly a Court Attendant for Broome County Family Court; member of Kiwanis; member of the Conklin Historical Society; member of American Legion Post 80; and active in the Kidney Foundation.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Andrews Church, Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Shawsville Cemetery, Conklin. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Jim may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, N.Y. 10016.

Jessica, Jim and family,
Jim was a great friend and a fun person to be with. I will never forget our "road trips" to Pine Ridge Groceries and Frogs Pond and a few bars in between! Also the fun times and great food at the pool. He will never be forgotten. God Bless you all!

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's death. We'll remember Jim as a friendly guy who always had a smile and news of his kids whenever we saw him. Conklin will miss him, and we will miss him. Our hearts go out to Jessica and Jimmy, and to all of the Ayres family.
