Lottie Louise Cuchiara
of Vestal, N.Y.
Lottie Louise Cuchiara, 90, of Vestal, went to be with the Lord, Monday evening, August 25, 2008, at the Vestal Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Samuel Cuchiara; parents, Edward and Pauline Pawlowski; brother, Bill Pawlowski; son-in-law, Joe Kane; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Cuchiara. She is survived by her children, Carol Kane, Vestal, Sonia and John Monigan, Vestal, Marlene and James Walsh, Naples, Fla., and David Cuchiara, San Diego, Calif.; seven grandchildren and spouses, Lisa and Gary Stevens, Paula Kane, Marty Kane, Tina and Matthew Siock, Christine and Joseph Miller, James Walsh and Desiree Cuchiara; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Paige Miller, Cassandra Kane, Nicholas Miller, Bennett Miller, Samuel Siock, Madison Siock and Carly Siock; special niece, Kathie and Robert Young; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; two very special friends, Angie Randesi and Dorothy Shirley. Lottie was a member of St. James Church, Johnson City. She was a devoted wife of 69 years and a loving mother. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling, especially to California and Florida. She was very social and enjoyed going out to dinner with family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Vestal Nursing Center for the wonderful care, especially the nurses and aides in the Cypress Unit.
Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at St. James Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to St. James Church Memorial Fund, 147 Main St., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790, in Lottie L. Cuchiara's memory.

I WAS AN AIDE AT VESTAL NURSING CENTER IN JUNE OF 2006. I WAS AN AIDE ON THE CYPRESS UNIT AND I TOOK CARE OF LOTTIE. SHE WAS VERY SPECIAL TO ME. SHE WAS LIKE THE GRANDMOTHER THAT I NEVER HAD. I REALLY LOVED HER AND SHE WILL BE MISSED. I AM SORRY FOR YOUR LOSE. LOTTIE WAS A WOUNDERFUL WOMEN TO ALL..

Carol,
Though I have left Medicine shoppe I have thought of you and Lottie often. I was saddened to see this morning that Lottie passed. She was a wonderful women and I know how much you loved her and cared for her. I guess we can gain strenghth knowing she is again reunited with Sam. I have wonderful memories of the them both. I will try and get to the viewing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you go through this tough time. Keep remembering all the great times...
