The Mayor of Turtletown will be missed. May each of us enjoy our lives as much as she relished hers.

I can't believe that Katharine is not here anymore. During the brief period of time that I knew her,she showed me how to keep a sense of humor, laugh when times are hard, and keep your chin up. Her spirit and spunk will be with me always.

I said goodbye to Katherine on August 2nd. On that day she was attending a party at Cayuga Lake, and couldn't descend the stairs. Being a good sport, she allowed our family to plunk her in a chair and carry her down to the lake, wisecracking all the way. She was my second grade teacher, good friend of my mother's and companion to my father. She will be missed on our visits to Owego.

Phil, Bill, and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was my second grade teacher and was one of my favorites. I will never forget her, as well as the memories of spending time in her home when I was sooo much younger. I know you will miss her.

Everyone who ever knew Katharine Hathaway is a better person today for having her in their life. Her home was my second home growing up and the door was always open to the end. I have so many fond memories that when the tears fall, she will still be able to make me laugh just by thinking of her. "Until the Twelfth of Never" will always be sung for her. My brother will be sad to learn his "hurts don't it" story has come to an end. My sympathies and prayers to all of you - we all share in her loss but are very thankful and grateful for her being.

I enjoyed your mom so much all through my childhood and adult life. She always had time for me and encouragement for me. I will miss her and her wonderful sense of humor and caring. She was fiesty and fun. She was the mom of my friends and the teacher of my children. I treasure her memory. I will definitely do lunch with a friend in her memory!

My mom taught with Mrs. Hathaway for many years, and always enjoyed her sense of humor and her dedication to kids. I really thought a lot of Mrs. Hathaway, and I'm glad she got to enjoy such a long retirement. Bill, Phil, sorry for your loss. What a blessing to have your mom for such a long time, but that still doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like hell to lose her.
