In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To the family of Scott Smith:

We have been customers and friends of Scott since 1965, a young married couple with a baby on the way and he helped us put in our first oil furnace. He set us up with the monthly payments and understood our needs for our young family.

In 1979 when our daughter was so sick and diagnosed with kidney failure and we missed alot of work to be with her .....he let us pay at tax return time.

We certainly appriciate his and his and his sons patience and understanding through all our hard times ....... and we send our prayers and blessings at this hard time for the family.

May GOD bless all of you and we will keep you in our prayers.

I have known Scott Smith since I was a little girl. I remember my dad taking me into the office on McMaster Street and hearing the latest fishing stories. And I loved the get-togethers up on the hill. Scott was always smiling and laughing. He was a kind, gentle, wonderful man. I will cherish the memories I have..... I know you will too!

He was one of my grandparents' best friends and I thought of him as another grandfather every summer I came to visit. I loved him very much and my prayers are with you.

I have such fond memories of long summer days in the Lansing marina with "Uncle Scott". My husband and I had a wonderful fishing trip on Lake Ontario with him, and I caught my biggest fish ever! On our last trip back east, we made a special trip to the Rainbow, just hoping to catch up to him and hear a story or two. That was our last visit.
Our sympathies,

Scott, Dean & Nina,

Sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. It was nice to see him this summer when Cathy I last visited. I will always remember your Dad as this larger than life figure. Like the time we tore up the Orange Dodge Power Wagon driving where they cut the trees under the power lines, or the time I drove Betty's sled head on into a tree, or many other times similar things happened and had to ultimately face your Dad. Well now he is together with Betty and in a better place. Sorry we won't be there to better express our sorrow at your loss. Cathy and I will pray for your mom and dad. God Bless!

What a nice guy, what a great family. I remember playing Little League baseball with Dean, looking over at the Smith compound across the street, and thinking that Dean had it made: Live by the ball field and get free gas for his mini-bike. As a Little Leaguer, it was hard to imagine anyone living any larger. Over the years, Scott always treated me very kindly, and my parents both thought he was one of the classiest, most generous guys in Owego. Dean, Scott, I'm sorry for your loss. Your dad leaves the Smith business and legacy in good hands.

Scott was a great friend and family man. He treated everyone with respect and care. He was genuinely interested about what you had to say and always took the time to listen. When he spoke he made his own words count and always made you smile. There was never a dull moment. Jane and Scott taught me alot about life, love, and horses; for which I will always be greatful, especially for my horse Lady. Jane and Scott were true friends and life won't be quite the same without them. I will miss them both greatly. Godspeed to our heavenly father. I'll see you when I get there.
Love and miss you always-
