Hazel Hyde Winston
of Greene
Hazel Hyde Winston, 96, passed peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2008. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Winston; and by parents, Albert and Viola Hyde. Hazel is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Barbara O'Brien, Liberty, S.C., Betty and Kenneth Ceplo, Chenango Forks, Beverly and Kieth Sabin, Greene, Martha and James DiGennaro, Minoa; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Hazel retired from GAF after many years of service. She was proud to have helped Greene Community Services to build a doctor's office and to have brought a doctor to the Green community.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, N.Y. 13778. Friends of the family may call Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at Root Funeral Home. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Green Emergency Squad, N. Canal St., Greene, N.Y. 13778.
