Norman Blewett Obituary

Norman R. Blewett
of Windsor
Norman R. Blewett, 80, passed away on August 30, 2008 at Lourdes Hospital with his family in attendance. He was predeceased by his parents, Bevan and Amelia Blewett; brothers, Franklin and Bevan Jr. Norman was born on January 28, 1928 in Nicholson, Pa. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Helen; sons, Gary (Brenda), Jon (Nancy), Brian (Faye), Kevin (Sandy); daughters, Susan (Gene) Cline and Julie (Ernest) Kleinlein; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brother, Raymond (Jennifer) Blewett; sister, Gertrude Jean (Merle) Colwell. Norman proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war and a short time at other jobs, Norman found the career of his dreams, driving tractor trailer. After 40 plus years as a Teamster he went to work for the town of Windsor where he faithfully served his friends, neighbors and community paving and plowing many miles of township roads. Norman was a member of the Bartonville Grange for over 60 years. He was also an elder and member of the Windsor Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years. Many thanks to Lourdes Hospital and all of Norman's caregivers for all of their compassionate, professional care during his final days before he went to be with the Lord.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008, at 12:00 noon at the Windsor Presbyterian Church, Windsor, N.Y. with Rev. Carl J. Batzel and Pastor Kevin Rollo officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Norman's memory to your favorite charity.

Norm "adopted" me as his granddaughter and he shared the fondest memories of his family with me over coffee at the diner. I will always cherish those times. God Bless this family in their time of grief.
I love you "Grandpa"
