Mary Ligus Dailey
formerly of Johnson City
Mary Dailey, 97, of James G. Johnston Nursing Home, formerly of 101 North Street, Johnson City, N.Y., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 4, 2008. Born May 3, 1911, Mary was the daughter of the late Andrew and Theresa Pearl Ligus, Richmondale, Pa. A career employee of Endicott-Johnson Shoes, Mary was the devoted wife of Wilson A. Dailey who passed away in 1972. She was also the loving sister of Nicholas, Peter, Andrew, Michael, John, George, Paul, and William Ligus and Anna Swider, Johnson City, all who predeceased Mary in death. A sister, Helen Franceski, Forest City, Pa., survives Mary; as well as a sister-in-law, Sophie Ligus, Egg Harbor Township, N.J. Blessed with 18 nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Mary brought joy and love to her large extended family.
A Divine Liturgy will be offered at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, 360 Clinton St., Binghamton, N.Y., Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. John J. Cigan will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery, Kattelville, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the church, Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, 360 Clinton St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905 or to the United Methodist Homes, Hilltop Campus, 286 Deyo Hill Rd., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790 in Mary Dailey's memory. Arrangements are by the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, N.Y.
