Eugene Shampang Obituary
of Binghamton
Eugene E. Shampang, 61, died at home on Thursday, September 4, 2008, after a short illness. He was predeceased by his father, Louis J. Shampang. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Wild Shampang; a brother, Louis J. Shampang, Jr., Biloxi, Miss.; three sisters, Mrs. Louella Wercholuk, Ormand Beach, Fla., Mrs. Barbara Chowning, Brunswick, Md., and Elizabeth Shampang, Clifton Park, N.Y.; two uncles, Ernest Wild, Windsor, N.Y., and Robert Shampang, Bainbridge; also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #1194.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, September 7, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post #1194, 1373 Chenango St., Hillcrest, N.Y. The immediate family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Hospice and the many friends who helped, especially Kim Merrill. In lieu of flowers, please make any memorial donations to Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905. Arrangements by Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc.
