John E. Reigelman
formerly of Johnson City
John E. Reigelman, 79, of Greenville, Pa., formerly of Johnson City, died Sunday, September 7, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife, Sophia Reigelman; and his companion, Jeanne Blackson. He is survived by his children, Mary and Brian Johnson, Whitesboro, Jackie Buchta and fiance, Scott Stevens, Vestal, Robert and Tonya Reigelman, Johnson City; his grandchildren, Heather, Rebekah, Corey, Alicia and Rob, Tiffany and John, John and Markie, Lucas, Tristan, Calesta; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sophie, Lucie, Thad, Neva and Conrad; sister, Mary Bright, Greenville, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Vange and Dave Richards, Mary Dunkel; several nieces and nephews. Jack was the former proprietor of JAX Structural Services and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Ernest A. Steffensen will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Jack may be made to any charitable organization.

I remember Jack as his obituary picture shows. I was there with him for a short time. We roomed together for awhile in the Coast Guard Academy. We were on our way to Greenville for our high school reunion when he passed away. We had hoped to visit him in the hospital. He was a great guy and he will be missed. You have our deepest sympathy.

To our "extended" family,
Mr. Jack was a wonderful man. He will be deeply missed. He treated Mom like a queen and he truly made the last years of her life so very special. He was so good to us, loved and cared for us all the years they were together. We had so many great times. The trips we took, the visits to Binghamton, the dinners, holidays all so much more special because he was with us. He extended our family to a wonderful group of folks in New York with whom we have many fond memories. We are going to miss him - our thought and prayers are with you. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. "Mr. Reigelman" was such a warm, happy person and I will always remember him fondly as someone who cared about kids and taught me a lot about myself through his coaching and advising our GOYA sports teams and organization.
