Esther Kveragas Obituary

Esther G. Kveragas
of North Orwell
When someone you love becomes a memory… the memory becomes a treasure. Esther G. Kveragas, 83, of North Orwell (RR 1, Rome, Pa.) went to her heavenly home and to be reunited with her husband, on Thursday, September 25, 2008, following a brief period of declining health. Esther was born on August 2, 1925 in Middletown, Pa. a daughter of Thomas Anthony and Gretchen Carrie (Smith) Gordon. For many years, she assisted her husband in the daily operations of the Kveragas Meat Plant and other business ventures. Esther treasured the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking cookies. Her memory will forever live within our hearts. Esther is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Charles E. and Anne Kveragas of Friendsville, Pa; her daughter and son-in-law: Mary and Harvey 'Paul' Rogers of Windham Center, Pa; her sister: Barbara Enslin of Lake Ariel, Pa.; brother-in-law, Alex Kveragas and special friend Ruth Weaver; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Helen and Ed Clark of Lemon, Pa; her special grandchildren: Mary "Skeeter" (Brian Hicks) Rogers; Paul Rogers, Ryan (Melissa Sussman) Kveragas, Dana (Samuel) Mast, Michael (Wendy) Rogers, Charlie (Christina) Rogers; great grandchildren: Amber, Katelyn, William, Destiny, and Olivia. Several nieces, nephews and a very special friend and caregiver Joan Miller also survive. Esther was predeceased by her husband Charles Kveragas on February 10, 2005; an infant son; brother Thomas Gordon, sisters: Gladys Sorensen and Carrie Sechrist.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 29th at 12 noon at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Friendsville, Pa. with Rev. Cas Stanis, officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. A period of visitation and sharing memories will be held on Monday from 9 to 11am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 South Main St., Nichols. DEAR FRIENDS, SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS OF ESTHER. SHE WAS A GREAT PERSON. I REMEMBER WHEN SHE AND CHARLIE RAN THE MEAT PLANT YEARS AGO. I REMEMBER SKEETER IN HER RUBBER BOOTS HELPING GRANDMA. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AT THIS TIME OF LOSS. ESTHER IS NOW WITH HER LORD IN A BETTER PLACE.
