Jessie J. Munroe, 88, of Vestal, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, September 28, 2008, at the Vestal Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her son, Alexander J. Munroe; and her son-in-law, Roger St. Clair. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jacqueline Munroe, Glen Castle; her daughter, Agnes St. Clair, Vestal; four grandchildren, Chad and Deborah Munroe, Kathleen and Thomas Kelly, Steven and Georgina St. Clair, Susan and David Fredenburg; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rena Galusha, Binghamton; a brother, Joseph and Angeline Boulton, Johnson City; sister-in-law, Lillian Pease, Friendsville, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Binghamton, and a member of a Bible Study group and a retired employee of Lourdes Hospital. The family wishes to thank the "Angels" at Vestal Nursing Center for the loving and compassionate care given to Jessie.
Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. Ernest A. Steffensen will officiate. Burial will be in Knox Cemetery, Ouaquaga. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home, Thursday from 5 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Jessie may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southern Tier Regional Office, 401 Hayes Ave., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
