John Targosh Jr.
of Candor
John Targosh Jr., 88, of Candor, passed away at Robert Packer Hospital on Monday, September, 29, 2008. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Viola Targosh; and sister, Bernice Dolinsky. John is survived by his children, Bill (Sally) Targosh, Nev., Larry Targosh, Tex., Gigi (Brian) Smith, Ohio, and Terri (Bob) Rennells, Candor; devoted friend, Helen; grandchildren, Heidi, Brandon, Jessica, Joshua, and Ryan; and great-granddaughter, Olivia. John was a WWII veteran; member of the Candor American Legion Post #907, retired farmer, Candor Central Schools bus driver and USPS mail carrier; former Town Supervisor for the Town of Candor. He will always be remembered for his love of nature and wonderful sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Candor Congregational Church with Melvin Foster officiating. Family invites friends to call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Candor. Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Stray Haven. www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com

Sincere sympathy for your loss. I recall Johnny’s awesome sense of humor and easy going, warm personality. I spent many hours riding his bus and remember him as a steady predictable person. He certainly leaves an admirable legacy.

Bill and Terri and the remaining members of the Targosh Family I never got to know: I am so sorry to read of your dads passing. John was such a wonderful sweet person at everything he ever did..He was such a joy to talk to and treated people like family..I am so sorry for your loss..I know you will hold him in your hearts for all he was to you and the community..God bless you all.
